Liam Byrne set a personal record in the shot put to highlight the Tufts "Last Chance" meet Saturday for the Bates men's indoor track and field team.
Byrne (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished tied for fourth in the shot put at the meet with his career-best throw of 50-2.5. He actually tied with teammate sophomore
Jacob Goff (Scarborough, Maine) at the meet as Goff's top throw as also 50-2.5, just shy of his PR of 50-4.75.Â
For the second straight meet, sophomore
Ned Farrington (Cohasset, Mass.) impressed in the 3K, racing to the finish in 8:31.52, which was good for fourth place.Â
NCAA qualifiers will be
announced Sunday at 7pm. The 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 11-12 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
