Women's lacrosse falls 19-5 at No. 19 Trinity over course of two days

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The No. 19 nationally ranked Trinity College Bantams got seven goals from Lilianna Khosrowshahi to defeat the Bates women's lacrosse team 19-5 in a NESCAC game played Saturday and Sunday at Robin L. Sheppard Field.

The game was played over the course of two days as Trinity (3-0, 2-0 NESCAC) jumped out to an 11-2 lead on Saturday with 8:36 remaining before halftime but both teams were pulled off the field by the officials due to inclement weather. Play resumed on Sunday at 1 p.m. and the Bantams quickly tallied seven unanswered goals. Khosrowshahi led the way, but Trinity's Christine Taylor scored four goals on Saturday and added a fifth during Sunday's conclusion. Lily Ives registered a hat trick and also tallied a pair of assists. Meanwhile, Samantha Booma, Casey Ward, Ellie Kirkpatrick, and Caitlyn Buermann each contributed goals for the Bantams.

With Bates down 3-0, senior Jordyn Tveter (Topsfield, Mass.) scored the first goal of the game for the Bobcats (1-3, 0-2 NESCAC) in the first quarter while first-year Caroline Taggart (Concord, Mass.) added a goal in the second quarter, to make the score 9-2. The visitors then added their final three tallies in the fourth quarter from junior Chloe Robinson (North Salem, N.Y.), sophomore Sadie O'Neil (Concord, Mass.) and senior Kate Loughlin (York, Maine).

Trinity's Gabriella Young made four saves while teammate Addie Newsome closed out the game and recorded four saves of her own. Junior Cammie Lavoie (Epping, N.H.) played all 60 minutes for Bates and made nine stops for the Bobcats.

Bates takes on Skidmore in a non-conference game on the campus of Endicott College Tuesday at 5pm.
