MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Sophomore
Alexander Gujarathi performed well at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles in a 9-0 loss at Middlebury for the Bates men's tennis team Sunday afternoon.
Gujarathi (Plymouth, Mass.) teamed with classmate
Matthew Danielson (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and gave the Middlebury team of David Vilys and Stan Morris all they could handle at No. 1 doubles before falling 8-7 (7-4).
Then Gujarathi took Zachary Hilty to three sets at No. 3 singles, losing a close tiebreaker at the end, falling 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.
The Bobcats (1-4, 0-2 NESCAC) return to action this Saturday when they host MIT at Merrill Gymnasium. The match gets underway at 1pm.
