Farmington, Maine - A Ciaran Bardong goal just 1:45 into Tuesday night's non-conference road contest at University of Maine-Farmington would hold strong until the final whistle as Bates College blanked the Beavers, 1-0, in men's soccer action.

Bardong (Manhasset, N.Y.), making his first start of the 2022 campaign, immediately made the most of his opportunity as the midfielder connected on a pass by Saturday's hero, Alec Szwarcewicz (Sr.-Newton, Mass.), resulting in the senior's third goal on the year.

The Bobcats, with back-to-back victories, now sit a game over .500 at 5-4. Maine-Farmington falls to 4-2-1. Bates owned the shot column at 15-3 with a 5-0 margin on frame.

Bruce David (Jr.-Pittsburgh, Pa.) making his first start in net for the Bobcats since last October 26th vs. Colby, collected the shutout victory despite not facing a single shot on goal.

The garnet and white returns to NESCAC play for its next outing, a Saturday visit to Clinton, N.Y., as the Bobcats take on #12 Hamilton College at 1:30 p.m.
