Lewiston, Maine - Falling by a score of 25-18 in the first set, Amherst College proceeded to swipe the next three stanzas with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-15 en route to a come-from-behind 3-1 road victory vs. Bates Friday night in NESCAC women's volleyball action.
The Mammoths, winners of three-straight, move to 12-6 (6-3 NESCAC) on the year. Bates, still looking for its first conference win (0-9 NESCAC), drops to 6-16 overall.
Alyssa Lowther (Wyckoff, N.J.) topped the home team with 11 kills, five of which came during the Bobcats' set one triumph. The sophomore also landed four service aces in the match.
Ami Evans (Fy.-Honolulu, Hawaii) followed with seven smashes and 11 digs.
Katie Kortekkas (So.-Manhattan Beach, Calif.) also posted seven kills on the night for Bates.
Emma Eide (Sr.-Ramsey, N.J.) paced the garnet and white with 25 assists and settled seven digs.
Ellie Asada (Fy.-Honolulu, Hawaii) continues to star on the Bobcats' back line as the libero led all players with her 23 digs, complementing her five assists and pair of aces.
Bates closes out its 2022 campaign Saturday afternoon as the Bobcats host Williams College at 2:00 p.m. in Alumni Gym. Both Eide and
Madison Broda (Portland, Maine) will be honored during a special Senior Day pregame ceremony.
