Waterville, Maine -
Elizabeth Patrick closed out a splendid collegiate career Tuesday afternoon as the senior midfielder netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season with the Bobcats tying rival Colby College, 1-1, in the 2022 season finale for the Bates' women's soccer program.
The Cooperstown, N.Y. resident recorded the first tally of the contest in typical fashion as Patrick gathered a
Mollie Franklin (So.-Framingham, Mass.) feed just outside the 18-yard line and rifled in her trademark long-range laser to the bottom right quadrant at 81:23.
Bates' lead would last only 2:03 as Colby's Sophie Webb (Waterville, Maine) connected with a Kaleigh Quinn (So.-Bristol, R.I.) cross, sending home the equalizer at 83:26. Like Patrick, the scoring effort marked the fifth of the year for the Colby midfielder.
The stalemate represents the second-straight tie for the 5-6-4 (1-5-4 NESCAC) Bobcats. The Mules also conclude the year, finishing at 5-9-1 overall (0-9-1).
Colby edged its guest by two with a 13-11 overall shot margin (8-6 on frame). Patrick paced the Bates' offense with three shooting efforts (3 SOG).
Ruby Reimann (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) shined in net for the garnet and white as the sophomore secured a season-best seven saves in the complete-game performance.
