Lewiston, Maine (Russell Street T&F) - A scoreless stalemate on Senior Day still resulted in a point in the standings for Bates College as the Bobcats and Tufts University battled to a 0-0 tie in Saturday's NESCAC men's soccer action.
Bates, which celebrated its senior class during a pregame ceremony, extended its late-season unbeaten streak to five-straight games with ties vs. formidable NESCAC foes in its last three outings. The 0-0 result marks the first such conclusion for the Bobcats since doing so at home vs. Trinity College (Conn.) back on Sept. 30, 2017.
The visiting Jumbos (5-2-5, 2-2-4 NESCAC) fired off 13 shots (six on frame) while the Bobcats (5-4-3, 1-4-3 NESCAC) let loose on eight attempts (three on net) of their own.
Nico Hessel (Fy.- Brattleboro, Vt.) recorded six saves in the complete-game performance for the home team. Erik Lauta (So.-Aptos, Calif.) made three saves for Tufts.
The garnet-and-white takes to the road Monday evening with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest scheduled at Endicott College (9-3-3).
