LEWISTON, Maine -- Senior captain
Jesper Phillips gave his opponent at the No. 1 position all they could handle in a 9-0 loss for the No. 25 nationally ranked Bates men's squash team Saturday to No. 4 Trinity.
Phillips (Moss, Norway) dropped his first game to Trinity's Mohamed Sharaf before evening the match with an 11-9 win in game two. The next two games were close but Sharaf emerged victorious for Trinity by a count of 3-1 (11-1, 9-11, 11-5, 11-9).
The Bantams (3-0), a national powerhouse in squash every year, swept the other eight matches.
Bates (1-5) gets some time off after a very tough early season slate. The Bobcats return to action January 8 at Williams with a match set for 5pm.
