WATERVILLE, Maine -- Senior captain
Jack Howard paced the Bates men's golf team and
shot the second lowest score of the day overall Saturday at the CBB Tournament, hosted by Colby College at Waterville Country Club.
Howard (Pelham, N.Y.) fired a 74, one stroke back of medalist Nolan Burke from Colby. Each school brought six golfers, with the top four scores from each squad counting towards the team score.
Bowdoin won the CBB title with a team score of 304. Bates finished just four strokes back at 308. Colby came in third at 314.
First-year
Fred Curtis (Harvard, Mass.) also impressed, shooting a 75 on the day. Sophomores
John Kawakami (Northport, N.Y.) and
Evan Glicos (Windham, Maine) rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats with scores of 78 and 81 respectively.
The CBB Tournament wraps up the fall season for the Bates men's golf team.
