WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Bates women's tennis team lost its match to Division II Rollins 6-1 today in Winter Park, Florida.
The Bobcats are now 1-2 this season. Rollins (2-2) won all three doubles matches, to secure the doubles point. The Tars went on to win at Nos. 1-5 singles for the victory.
First-year Joanna Atwater (Short Hills, N.J.) earned Bates' win at No. 6 singles. She defeated Paula Collada Cordon 6-4, 6-2. Atwater is now 2-1 in singles action in dual matches this year.
The Bobcats are back in action on Friday, Feb. 28, when they host Wheaton (Mass.) for another non-conference match at 4 p.m.
