BRUNSWICK, Maine - No. 39 Bates College women's tennis team fell to No. 8 Middlebury College, 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in NESCAC action at the Wallach Tennis Center on the campus of Bates college. The match was the final home contest for the Bobcats.

The Panthers (8-5, 3-2) won six singles matches in straight sets after sweeping the Bobcats (4-10, 1-5) in doubles plays.

Elena Mandzhukova (Sudbury, Mass.) played the closest match of the day in number one singles competition pushing Middlebury's Ria Gerger to the brink in both sets, before falling 7-6, (7-4), and 7-5.  Olivia Voccola (Falmouth, Maine) also took the Panther's Lauren Amos to a tiebreaker in the first set of number five singles play, eventually dropping the decision in consecutive sets, 7-5, 6-1.

Bates next takes on NESCAC rival Williams on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams for the last regular season match.
