WELLESLEY, Mass. – No. 30 Bates College women's tennis lost to Wellesley College, 7-2, in the consolation bracket of the Nor'easter Bowl on Saturday afternoon at the Wellesley Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Blue (10-7) took two of three doubles matches then won five of six singles contests to defeat the Bobcats (6-3).
First-year Elizabeth Erbafina (Sudbury, Mass.) captured Bates' single win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Angela Stojkovic on court No. 3.
The duo of senior Kristen Doerer (Madison, Conn.) and first-year Kate Rosenthal (Pittsburgh, Pa.) snagged a win on doubles court No. 3, beating Samantha Stone and Kendall Tada, 8-4.
Next, Bates concludes play at the Nor'easter Bowl tomorrow at Babson at 10 a.m. before hosting Amherst on April 12 at 5 p.m.
