BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bates College men's squash won on court Nos. 1-4 and 6-8 to earn their 23rd straight victory over Bowdoin College, 7-2, at the Lubin Family Squash Center on Friday night.
Sophomore Ahmed Abdel Khalek (Cairo, Egypt) made his season debut for the 12th-ranked Bobcats (1-1) after missing the team's opener against Trinity on Nov. 23 due to injury, winning 11-1, 11-7, 11-2 on court No. 1 over Stephen Danyluk of the 21st-ranked Polar Bears (2-2).
First-year Ahmed Hatata (Alexandria, Egypt) and junior captain Andy Cannon (Greenwich, Conn.) also each won in straight sets as Hatata won 11-4, 11-4, 11-3 at No. 2 over Matthew Cooper and Cannon downed Reid Wilson 11-9, 11-7, 11-7 on court No. 3.
Junior Nabil Saleem (Alpharetta, Ga.), first-year Darrius Campbell (St. Stephen, S.C.), and first-year Nima Olumi (Newton, Mass.) each captured victories in four sets on court Nos. 4, 6, and 8 respectively while sophomore Caran Arora (Mumbai, India) out-lasted Benjamin Bristol in a five-set match at No. 7.
