Bates sophomore Meredith Kelly was named to the all-tournament team at the Daytona Beach Shootout before the holidays, thanks to a pair of strong performances against Mount Union and Buffalo State.

Kelly (Cohasset, Mass.) scored a team-high 18 points, including 6-of-6 shooting at the free throw line, and grabbed five rebounds in the Bobcats' overtime loss to Buffalo State on Dec. 20. The day before, Kelly collected eight points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in a setback against nationally ranked Mount Union.

The 5-foot-8 guard, last season's NESCAC Rookie of the Year, started the new year ranked fifth in the NESCAC in scoring, with 15.4 points per game, and seventh in the conference in field goal percentage (.491).
