WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates women's tennis team faced one of its toughest opponents in its final match of the season at Williams, as the No. 2 nationally ranked Ephs rolled to an 8-1 NESCAC victory. Bates received its point at No. 4 singles, where Caroline Capute retired due to injury while tied 2-2 with Bates sophomore Ashley Brunk (Phoenix, Ariz.).
Junior Erika Blauth (Camden, Maine) fared the best in singles play for the Bobcats, falling 6-1, 6-2 to Nicole Reich at third singles. Sophomore Jacqui Holmes (Harvard, Mass.) lost 6-1, 6-1 at first singles to Nancy Worley.
The Bobcats finish 4-15 for the year.
