Alex Piacquad '10 won at No. 2 singles for Bates. |
WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Bates College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at Brandeis University on Saturday. The regionally-ranked No. 14 Bobcats' dual match record fell to 2-4, while the regionally-ranked No. 15 Judges rose to 8-3.
Winning the lone point for Bates was junior Alex Piacquad (Yardley, Pa.), who defeated Gabrielle Helfgott 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 at No. 2 singles in a third-set super-tiebreaker.
Bates will host Bowdoin in a NESCAC match on Thursday, March 26 at 4 p.m.
