MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Bates College women's tennis team lost 9-0 at No. 13 nationally ranked Middlebury on Sunday, with Bobcat first-year Erika Blauth (Camden, Maine) standing out by winning one set at No. 4 singles over Alyssa Puccinelli.
Junior Alex Piacquad (Yardley, Pa.) also played a tough match at No. 2 singles, falling 6-4, 6-3 to Chandra Kurien.
Bates (2-3) will next play at Brandeis University on Saturday at 4 p.m.
