HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Bates College volleyball team finished its weekend of NESCAC play at Trinity College on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Wesleyan followed by a 3-0 defeat to Connecticut College.
Junior Liz Leberman (Concord, N.H.) led the Bobcats in with 9 kills and 16 digs in the Bobcats' 25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 25-22 loss to Wesleyan. Junior Avery Masters (Mill Valley, Calif.) and senior Beth Billington (St. Paul, Minn.) chipped in with 8 and 7 kills, respectively, while junior Kira Kramlich (San Francisco, Calif.) had a team-high 20 digs and first-year Grace Haessler (Portland, Ore.) had 30 assists with 3 service aces.
Connecticut College downed the Bobcats by set scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-20, with Leberman again leading the way for Bates with 9 kills and 8 digs. Haessler had 26 assists and 3 aces, while Masters had 7 kills, junior Tess Dokus (Salem, Conn.) added 5 kills and Kramlich had 8 digs.
Bates will play a conference match at Colby on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
