LEWISTON, Maine -- Colby College won the Sept. 30-Oct. 1 Bates Invitational volleyball tournament, 4-0, with senior Cait Cleaver, 57 kills and 60 digs in four matches, voted the tourney's Most Outstanding Player for the second year in a row.

Joining Cleaver on the All-Tournament team were Alesia Vaccari and Ashley Reves (Springfield), Becky Ciulla (Plymouth State), Kathy Couture and Anne Coulter (Colby-Sawyer) and Jasmine McDavid of Bates. 

Springfield finished 3-1 for second place, with remaining placings as follows: Colby-Sawyer (2-2), Plymouth State (2-2), Bowdoin (2-2), Johnson & Wales (2-2, UMass - Dartmouth (2-2),  

Bates (1-3) and Worcester State (0-4).

Overall wins and head-to-head results determined the tournament winner.

For Johnson & Wales, Audra Vaccari  had 42 assists, Kelle Pfunder 15 kills, 6 digs. For UMass-Dartmouth, Nazareth Cardoso had 14 kills, 15 digs, three aces; Hilary Teichert - 10 kills; Lauren Daly 38 assists, 10 digs.
