Sophomore Sarah Wicks earned medalist honors and the Bates women's golf team rolled to victory at Saturday's Husson invitational, held at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
Wicks shot a 73, finishing at one over par on the day. She birdied three holes on her way to victory. Wicks finished three strokes ahead of the next closest competitor in the field of 30 golfers.
The victorious team of Wicks, Victoria Adams, Isabelle Meltzer, and Mehar Nijjer shot a 308 as a group, 47 strokes ahead of runner-up University of New England.
This is the second straight year Bates has won the Husson Invitational. Wicks shared medalist honors with Meltzer last season.
