Johnson led off the 400-yard medley relay Friday against Tufts, and the sophomore backstroker set a Tarbell pool record with his split of 48.92 seconds. That set the tone as the team of Johnson, junior Marrich Somridhivej, first-year Nate Oppenheim, and junior Max Cory broke not only the pool record, but the Bates record as well with their winning time of 3:15.75.

Johnson also won the 200-IM with a time of 1:53.28 as the Bobcats turned in their best performance against the Jumbos in recent memory.
