Senior men's cross country captain Andrew Mottur (Rumford, R.I.) led the way for Bates Saturday at the Maine State Meet, finishing fourth out of 104 runners with an 8K time of 26:01.8 to earn All-State honors for a top-seven finish. 

The Bobcats edged rival Bowdoin by six points and took first place out of 10 teams in the meet, which was held at Roy's Disc Golf, to capture their seventh Maine State Meet title in the last 10 years. 

The Bobcats are off until Saturday, Oct. 5 when they host the Bates Invitational at Pineland Farms.
