A senior captain in the Bates swimming and diving program, Johnson turned in what head coach Peter Casares called "the best meet I've seen from her since sophomore year" Friday and Saturday at the Maine State Meet, helping the Bobcats capture the overall team title.

She placed second out of 22 swimmers in the 1650-yard freestyle in 17:40.84, and also scored points for Bates in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.14), the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.46), and the 400-yard IM (4:50.06).
