Maher had the game-winning hit and made a number of spectacular plays on defense in the Bates softball team's 1-0 win over defending champion Amherst in the NESCAC quarterfinals on Friday. The victory marked the program's first win ever in the NESCAC tournament.

Overall, Maher went 2-6 in the NESCAC tournament with a run scored, an RBI, two walks, a hit by pitch, and a stolen base at the plate for Bates.
