Junior Nolan Collins (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) earned his fourth win of the season by tossing six and a third innings of two-run baseball to help Bates defeat Wesleyan 4-2 on Saturday.

He retired the side in order in the first and third innings. Wesleyan lead 1-0 before Bates scored four times in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Collins worked around a two-out single in the fourth before the Cardinals got one back in the fifth. With one run in and runners at first and second with one out, Collins avoided further trouble thanks to a strikeout and a pop out.

In the sixth, Collins faced first and second with one away, and got Jake Alonzo to hit into an inning-ending double play. Senior captain Alex Simon relieved Collins with one out in the seventh and earned the save for Bates.

Collins (4-1) struck out six batters on the day and currently leads the NESCAC in strikeouts with 36.
