Bates junior Wally Pierce played two outstanding all-around games last week for the Bobcats women's lacrosse team, leading the team to a 1-1 week, including Saturday's 11-10 win over Williams.

Pierce (Weston, Mass.) collected a season- and game-high five draw controls to go with a season-high three caused turnovers, three ground balls and a goal as the Bobcats hosted No. 8 Bowdoin in an 11-6 NESCAC setback on Wednesday at Garcelon Field. Her draw controls fueled the Bobcats' second-half push to narrow the score after Bowdoin had assumed a 7-0 lead.

Pierce followed that up on Saturday with career-highs in goals (4), points (5) and draw controls (7) in Bates' win over Williams as Bates notched a crucial second NESCAC victory of the season. Pierce also caused two turnovers and gathered two ground balls in the pulse-pounding win.

Pierce and the Bobcats will look to sustain their momentum into their NESCAC game at Hamilton on Saturday, beginning at 12pm.
