Kelsey Chenoweth (Stowe, Vt.) will represent the Bates skiing teams in women's alpine races at the 2015 National Collegiate Skiing Championships, announced Monday by the NCAA Men's and Women's Skiing Committee. The event takes place March 11-14 in Lake Placid, N.Y., with alpine races at Whiteface Mountain and Nordic races at Mt. Van Hoevenburg.

Chenoweth received one of 16 invitations extended to women's alpine skiers from the East Region. The Bates sophomore has been consistently strong throughout the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association carnival season. In slalom events she has placed 14th or higher in four out of six carnivals, peaking in 10th place at the Bates Carnival. In the giant slalom Chenoweth also peaked at the Bates Carnival with a 10th-place showing, one of three top-16 finishes on the season in the GS.
