Bates sophomore Jess Wilson (Cumberland, Maine) won the 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:40.86 Saturday at the Bowdoin Aloha Relays, nearly five seconds ahead of runner-up Alanna McDonough of Colby. Wilson's time puts her at 44th place in the event nationally.

Wilson was also part of Bates' first-place finish in the 4x800 relay. The team, which also included senior Elena Jay (West Hartford, Conn.), senior Erica Gagnon (Weymouth, Mass.), and sophomore Sadie James (Avon, Maine), finished the relay in a time of 10:05.12, 23.11 second ahead of runner-up Bowdoin.

The wins were two of five total the Bobcats had for the day, en route to a close second-place finish among the eight competing teams.

Wilson and the Bobcats return to action this weekend in the NESCAC Championships at Williams College.
