Biography

2016-17: One of 38 Bates graduates to receive the Senior Scholar Award from the Bates Department of Athletics.

Indoor Highlights:

NCAA Championships: The women's distance medley relay team of sophomore Sarah Rothmann, senior captain Claire Markonic, sophomore Ayden Eickhoff and senior captain Jessica Wilson broke the Bates flat track record and finished a program-best fourth place to earn All-America honors.... They completed the race in 11:51.93, a new program record on a flat track. Their fourth place finish beats the previous Bates women's DMR finish of fifth place at the NCAA Championships in 2014.... Wilson placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run, good for her third career All-American award.... Wilson's time of 9:45.33 broke her personal flat-track record in the event. She becomes the first Bobcat runner since 1990 to finish as an All-American in the 3,000.... NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.

Outdoor Highlights:

NCAA Championships: Placed fourth in the 1,500 meters and seventh in the 5,000 meters.... Wilson finished the 1,500, which began at 12:25pm, in 4:27.33, eclipsing the team record that she has pursued all season: Kallie Nixon's 4:30.04 mark from 2014.... Two and a half hours later, Wilson put forth an all-out effort in her final collegiate race, earning seventh place in a time of 17:13.32, 0.96 seconds ahead of eighth-place Marissa Cossaro of SUNY Geneseo, and 3.94 seconds ahead of ninth-place Megan Kellogg.... The effort was worth two team points for the Bobcats and made Wilson a five-time NCAA All-American, including two in a span of under three hours.... At the start of the meet, she was seeded eighth in the 1,500 and 14th in the 5,000.... NESCAC Spring All-Academic selection. 

2015-16

Indoor Highlights:

NCAA Championships: Ran 1,600-meter anchor leg of 11th-place distance medley relay team (12:03.81)…. Earned Bates’ fourth spot in NCAA distance medley relay race field in the past five years with 11:53.98 performance at Tufts Last Chance meet…. New England Division III Championships: Placed sixth in the mile in 5:03.77; sixth-place performance in the 4x800 relay (9:45.09)…. Maine State Meet: Second place in mile (5:01.83)…. NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.

Outdoor Highlights:

NCAA Championships: Placed 18th out of 22 runners in women’s 1,500-meter run in 4:42.99, in her third career NCAA Championship appearance…. ECAC Championships: Ran a personal-best time of 4:32.92 in the 1,500 meters, placing fourth out of 26…. Open New Englands: Placed fifth out of 26 women and third in Division III in the 1,500 meters at 4:38.98… NESCAC Championships: Fourth place in 1,500 meters (4:36.33), moving in to third place on Bates’ all-time performance list; seventh place in 4x800 relay (9:45.50)…. NESCAC Spring All-Academic selectiom.

2015: Earned All-America honors for helping Bates finish eighth in the distance medley relay race at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
