Senior captain Alexa Jurgeleit led a Bates defense that allowed only 10 shots on goal over two games in a 1-1 weekend. No. 14 Bates fell 1-0 to No. 1 nationally ranked Middlebury on a penalty stroke on Saturday, then defeated No. 20 Trinity 1-0 on Sunday.

The Bobcats currently rank fifth in the NESCAC in goals against average.

Bates sports a record of 6-3 on the season, with all three losses coming to teams ranked in the top eight nationally. This is the best record through nine games for the field hockey program since 2000.
