Senior Allen Sumrall (Albuquerque, N.M.) placed third out of 18 men in the 5,000 meters, in 14:43.51, at last week's ECAC Championships, entering Bates' all-time performance list in the event at No. 10. 

Sumrall, who won All-America honors in the fall at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, is the 20th seed in the 10K at the upcoming NCAA Championships, based on his personal-best time of 30:38.90, the program's fastest time since 1987 and third fastest in Bates history.
