Senior goalkeeper Robbie Montanaro made 11 saves and recorded a pair of shutouts over the weekend to help lead the Bates men's soccer team to wins over Wesleyan and Williams.

On Saturday, he recorded a pair of saves to help Bates defeat Wesleyan 1-0. Then he turned in his best performance of the season the following day. 

Montanaro earned his fourth shutout this season and the 10th in his career with a season-high nine saves, including several big plays in the final 15 minutes in Bates' 2-0 win over Williams on Sunday. On a beautiful laser shot with 15:10 to go by Gregory Andreou, Montanaro dived full-out to his left to spike the ball aside. A minute later, Montanaro sprang out of the goal to snare a wicked cross from the right by Williams. With 11:10 to go, Montanaro leaped up to stop a shot directed just under the crossbar by Andreou. 

Through six matches in 2018, Montanaro has allowed only two goals.
