Sophomore Andrew Hall (Little Silver, N.J.) won the 100-yard IM at the WPI Invitational in a team-record time of 52.40 seconds, beating the previous record of 52.79 set by Alex Bedard in 2016. Hall also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.86).

A slew of first-place and lifetime-best performances underscored first-place team finishes for both the Bates men's and women's swimming and diving teams at the WPI Invitational on Saturday.

On the men's side, Bates won with 1,504.5 points, followed by WPI (1,239.5), Roger Williams (820.5), Wheaton (387.5) and Trinity (344).

The meet featured 58 events, emphasizing short-distance races.
