Rust placed 27th (25:48.98) out of 416 runners at the NCAA New England Regional Championships on Saturday to earn All-New England honors. The Bates men finished 6th out of 58 teams and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time since 2013.

Rust is the lone first-year on the men's team making the trip to NCAAs. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting the championships Nov. 17 at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

Bates previously ran as a team at NCAAs in 1999, 2004, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
