Scott Lehmann recently completed his fifth year at Bates, after being named the Bates College Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Recreation prior to the 2018-19 academic year. He was promoted to Associate A.D. in July of 2022.
With an extensive and diverse background in leadership of athletic and recreation operations, Lehmann will oversee the athletics facility operations and Bates club sports and intramurals. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Lehmann has worked at four other higher education institutions since graduating from the University of Delaware in 2011.
Most recently, Lehmann served as the Assistant Director of Facilities Management at Towson University in Towson, Md., where he helped open a 96,000 sq. ft. facility expansion to the Campus Recreation facilities. Lehmann earned his master’s degree in sport management from Millersville University. As a graduate assistant at Millersville, he managed a $1 million budget for 19 sports, scheduling and managing athletic contests and facilities, and assisted with hiring coaching staff and coordinating team rosters, transportation, practices and student-athlete development programs. Lehmann also previously worked at York College of Pennsylvania as building and events manager at its 170,000-square-foot athletics and recreation facility.
