Michelle Dion joined the Bates Athletics Sports Medicine Team as a Certified Athletic Trainer in June 2026.
Dion comes to Bates after earning her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Merrimack College in 2026, following a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Rivier University.
During her graduate clinical education, Dion gained experience across NCAA Division I and Division III athletics, most recently at Harvard University, where she worked with men's lacrosse while assisting with several additional varsity programs, including football, softball, track and field, sailing, squash, swimming and diving. Her clinical experience included injury evaluation, rehabilitation, return-to-play progression, load monitoring, and the use of advanced therapeutic modalities.
Dion also completed immersive clinical rotations with Merrimack football, where she provided care for approximately 100 student-athletes, developed individualized rehabilitation programs, maintained detailed medical documentation, and assisted with injury prevention and protective equipment fitting. Additional clinical experiences at Wellesley College and Lawrence Academy provided opportunities to work with concussion management, post-operative rehabilitation, and collaborative sports medicine care while supporting student-athletes across a variety of sports.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Dion holds certifications in CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed and is committed to providing comprehensive, student-centered care that supports the health, well-being, and performance of Bates student-athletes.
