Ethan Tardif

Ethan Tardif joined the Bates College Athletic Performance staff in November 2025 as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. A resident of Minot, Maine, Tardif brings a diverse background in athlete development, personal training, and performance coaching across collegiate, youth, and general-fitness populations.

Before arriving at Bates, Tardif served as a personal trainer/performance coach at Prime360 in Auburn, where he designed and led strength and conditioning programs for athletes ranging from youth competitors to college-level performers. He also coached one-on-one and group training sessions for the general public and incorporated velocity-based training strategies to enhance power and strength output.

Ethan previously worked at Dirigo Fitness in Falmouth as a personal trainer and health coach, creating individualized programs, leading group exercise sessions, and supporting clients through long-term health and fitness goals. His experience also includes a year as a student coach at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, where he assisted with strength and conditioning operations, led team training sessions, and worked closely with multiple varsity programs.

Tardif earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Performance & Leadership from Saint Joseph’s and is currently completing his MBA. He also holds an associate degree in Exercise Science from Central Maine Community College.
