Dale Plummer

Dale Plummer joined the Bates College baseball coaching staff in January 2024. 

He joins the Bobcats while also serving as founder, president, and CEO of Professional Baseball Experience, Inc., an organization that has been providing professional coaching services to baseball and softball players in the state of Maine since 1994.

No stranger to the NESCAC, Plummer most recently served as Head Baseball Coach at Colby College from 2005-18, while also working as an assistant coach for the the Mules' football program from 2008-12. His initial NESCAC experience came at Bowdoin College, serving as the Polar Bears' pitching coach from 2000-05, as well as an assistant equipment manager for two years.

A graduate of the University of Maine, Plummer pitched for the UMaine baseball program, and went to a pair of NCAA College World Series (1984,1986) with the Black Bears.

Dale was drafted by the New York Mets in the 23rd round of the 1988 MLB June Amateur Draft. The 2009 Maine Baseball Hall of Fame inductee pitched seven years professionally, five of which were spent at the AAA level.

Plummer also serves as Coordinator of Athletic Equipment and Operations for the Bates Department of Athletics.
