Upon graduation, Bean ranked in the top 10 all-time at Bates in these events:

1000-yard freestyle, 4th (9:46.87).

1650-yard freestyle, 6th (16:19.63).

Career: One of 92 Senior Scholar Award-winners, who have participated in varsity sports for four years and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. 

2023-24: NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Competed in the 500-yard freestyle, the 1,000-yard freestyle, and the 1,650-yard freestyle at the NESCAC Championships, placing 34th (4:49.60), 29th (10:04.47), and 25th (16:58.86), respectively.

2022-23: NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:10.30 against Dartmouth (Jan. 7).

2021-22: NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection....  Placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:12.59) in a tri-meet against Wheaton and Wesleyan (Nov. 20).... Placed 15th in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a personal record time of 9:46.87 at the NESCAC Championships (Feb. 19).... Placed 17th in the 1650-yard freestyle with a personal record time of 16:19.63 at the NESCAC Championships (Feb. 20).

2020-21: No season due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Personal: 2020 graduate of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes Upper School (Va.) where he competed in swimming, cross country, and track & field ... AP scholar.
