2023: Team captain.... Recipient of the Peter and Lois Doran Award for Track & Field Excellence.... Earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Outdoor Highlights: Earned All-Region honors in the hammer throw, the shot put, and the discus.... Byrne set a personal record in the hammer throw with his top effort of 188-5 (57.44m) at the Maine State Classic on April 22.... He also recorded a season-best throw in the discus at the Maine State Classic, winning the event with a top toss of 153-7 (46.81m).... He then set a personal record in the shot put with a top heave of 51-6.25 (15.70m) at the New England Division III Championship in early May.

Indoor Highlights: Earned All-Region honors in the weight throw and the shot put.... Set personal records in both events, with his top effort in the weight throw coming at the Middlebury Small College Invitational, held in Boston in January.... Byrne tossed the weight 58-7.25 (17.86m) there and then he saved his best for last in the shot put, recording a personal record distance of 51-5.5 (15.68m) at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet, the 10th best indoor shot put performance in Bates history. 

2022: Earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Outdoor Highlights: Earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the discus (165-2 / 50.34m), hammer (182-9 / 55.71m), and javelin (189-5 / 57.74m) in a breakout year for the Bates thrower.... Competed at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career, taking 12th in the hammer and 19th in the discus.... Surged into sixth place on the Bates all-time performance list in the discus with his throw of 165-2 (50.34m) at the Open New England Championships (May 14).... Won the hammer throw with a personal record heave of 182-9 (55.71m), took second in the javelin with a personal record 189-5 (57.74m), and finished second in the discus at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships (May 6).... Won the shot put, discus, javelin, and hammer throw at the Maine State Classic, earning the The Frederick D. Tootell Memorial Most Valuable Field Athlete Award( April 23).... Won the discus, hammer, and javelin at the Silfen Invitational (April 15-16).... Won the hammer and javelin at the Tufts Quad Meet (April 9).... Won the shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin at the Bates Quad Meet (April 2).

Indoor Highlights: Earned All-East Region honors in the weight throw.... Set a personal record in the shot put with a top heave of 50-2.5 (15.30m) at the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet (March 5)....  Won the weight throw with a personal record heave of 54-11.25 (16.74m) and took second in the shot put at the Lynn Ruddy Invitational (Feb. 18-19).... Won the shot put at the USM Invitational (Jan. 30).

2021

Outdoor Highlights: NESCAC Spring All-Academic selection.... Claimed three All-NESCAC honors in the first year he was eligible to do so, with no such awards given out in 2020.... Byrne recorded the highest mark in the NESCAC this season in the javelin throw, outdistancing teammate Zach Smith as league champion in the event with a top effort of 165'8" at the Tufts Invitational on May 8.... The sophomore won a second All-NESCAC honor in the discus throw, where he ranks second in the conference at 144'5", and a third in the hammer throw, where he ranks third in the league with a top mark of 156'1".

Indoor Highlights: NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... No season due to COVID-19.

2020

Indoor Highlights: Placed third at the Bowdoin Invitational in the shot put with a season-best throw of 46' 1.25".... Placed fifth in both the shot put and the weight throw, with a season-best distance of 48' 1.25" in the weight, at the Maine State Meet.
