  • Title
    Assistant Field Hockey Coach (2021-2023)
Morgan DeMann wrapped up her third year as an assistant coach with the Bates field hockey program in 2023. She was part of the staff that earned "NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year", as Bates matched a program record with 13 wins and qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history. DeMann was hired by NCAA Division I program James Madison University following the season.

"I am so excited to work with Bates College and head coach Dani Ryder Kogut," McMann said when hired in 2021. "This will be my first college coaching experience and I couldn't be more thrilled to have this opportunity. Coaching at the high school and club levels has been a great outlet to share my knowledge and passion of the game and see the development of young athletes."

DeMann comes to Bates from the WNY Field Hockey Club in Binghamton, N.Y. where she coached athletes of all age and skill ranges from beginners to committed Division I athletes.

She played field hockey at Division I program Liberty University, graduating with a degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2013. DeMann earned an MBA from University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2020.

"As an athlete, I had the chance to work with incredible coaches and now being able to coach at the collegiate level myself is a task and responsibility I am greatly looking forward to taking on," McMann said. "Dani has developed a competitive, positive culture at Bates and her leadership style, as well as the technical knowledge from Coach Ian Wagge, will ensure a great 2021 season and beyond that I am blessed to be part of!"
