Biography

2018-19: First Team All-NESCAC.... Coxswained the men's first varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the Bobcats won their third consecutive NESCAC Championship, finishing fourth overall in the grand final.

2017-18: First Team All-NESCAC.... Coxswained the men's first varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the Bobcats won the gold medal, winning the 2018 NESCAC Championship and qualifying for the IRA National Championship Regatta for the first time in program history.

2016-17: Coxswained the men's second varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the M2V8 finished second to Hobart in the grand final.... Bates won the 2017 NESCAC Championship.

2015-16: Coxswained the open four at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the Bobcats finished second overall in the final team point standings.
