Biography

2017-18: Second Team All-NESCAC.... Senior Scholar Award recipient.... NIRC All-Academic selection.... NESCAC Spring All-Academic selection.... IRA All-Academic Team.... Rowed for the first varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the Bobcats won the gold medal, winning the 2018 NESCAC Championship and qualifying for the IRA National Championship Regatta for the first time in program history.... Qualified for 2018 U23 World Championships in men's double sculls.

2016-17: NIRC All-Academic selection.... NESCAC Spring All-Academic selection.... Rowed for the first varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships as the MV8 finished second to Hobart in the grand final.... Bates won the 2017 NESCAC Championship.

2015-16: Rowed in the second varsity eight as the Bobcats finished fifth out of 21 teams at the National Invitational Rowing Championships.

2014-15: Rowed in the men's third varsity eight as the Bobcats earned a bronze medal at the National Invitational Rowing Championships.
