Balanced Attack Lifts Bates Women’s Lacrosse to 19–8 Win at Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. - -Bates women's lacrosse earned its first win of the 2026 campaign Friday, rolling to a 19–8 victory at the University of Redlands on Farquhar Field, closing out the Bobcats' season-opening, two-game jaunt to the West Coast.

Laci Raveis powered the Bates attack with a seven-goal (one assist) performance, matching a career-high originally established April 2, 2024 at Bowdoin. Caroline Keating, with four goals in Wednesday's season-opener at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, added three more in Friday's victory, while nine different Bobcats found the back of the net for the high-powered offense of the garnet-and-white.

The Bobcats have scored an impressive 34 goals to open the year.

Bates set the tone early, scoring the game's first five goals with Raveis accounting for three of those tallies during the opening surge. The Bulldogs got on the board late in the first quarter (3:18) as the Bobcats carried a 5-1 advantage into the second period.

The home team made their push in the second, netting the first three goals of the frame to slice the Bates lead to one at 5-4.The Bobcats responded by accounting for four of the game's next five scores to pad its lead a 9-5 before heading into intermission with a 9-6 cushion.

Bates reasserted control in the third quarter, outscoring its host 4-1 in the period to extend the lead to 13–7 after 45 minutes of play. The Bobcats closed the game emphatically in the fourth, scoring six of the final seven goals. Raveis found the net three more times in the final quarter to close the door on the Bulldogs (1-1).

Bates finished the day with a 41–21 advantage in shots and a narrow 15–14 edge in draw controls. Defensively, the Bobcats forced 27 turnovers and held the Bulldogs to just one goal over the final 25:06 of play. Raegan White earned the win in goal, making seven saves in the first half, with Molly Urbonas and Virginia Avery also seeing time between the pipes.

Clare McGeever, Meghan Peters, Keating, and Raveis each recorded three caused turnovers apiece.

The Bobcats (1-1) now turn their attention to their home and NESCAC opener next Saturday, Feb. 28, when they host No. 5 Wesleyan on Garcelon Field. The opening draw is scheduled for noon.
