WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The Bates men's tennis team continued its spring-opening trip through Florida Monday afternoon, falling 7–0 to Division II Rollins College at the Rollins Tennis & Golf Center.
The match marked the spring opener for the Tars, while Bates was playing its second contest of the young season. Rollins secured the doubles point by sweeping all three flights, with the Bobcat pair of
Phillippe Kosyagin and
Will Marshall coming closest in No. 3 doubles before falling 6–4.
In singles play, Rollins carried its momentum through the lineup, winning in straight sets at all six positions. Kosyagin competed at No. 1 singles for Bates, while
Eric Diop played at No. 2.
Rocco Regnier,
Tylan Ozkuzey,
Josh Maller and
Nicolas Ozer rounded out the Bobcat lineup at positions 3-6, respectively.
Bates (0-1) will close out its Sunshine State visit on Tuesday when the Bobcats face No. 14 Division II Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fla. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
