Hartman and Miller named USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-America

SPARKS, Md. -- Bates men's lacrosse junior Connor Hartman and senior Ben Miller have both been named Honorable Mention All-America, as announced Wednesday by USA Lacrosse.

Hartman (Hingham, Mass.) earns his latest honor on the heels of being named second team All-NESCAC. The midfielder scored 30 goals and dished out 11 assists in 16 games played while often being the focus of the opposing team's defense. His 41 points ranked second on the team and Hartman also recorded 24 ground balls on the season.

Some of his top performances included: four goals, one assist, and four ground balls in a 12-9 win over Franklin & Marshall, three goals and a ground ball in an 18-4 win over Emerson, two goals and two assists in a 14-8 win over Hamilton, three goals, one assist, and three ground balls in an 11-10 win over Williams, and two goals and two assists against Wesleyan.

Miller (Scarsdale, N.Y.) receives well-deserved recognition for his superlative senior season. The long stick midfielder led the NESCAC with 2.13 caused turnovers per game. He was also ninth in the conference in ground balls, averaging four per game. Miller also got the shooting going this year, tallying a career-high nine goals while dishing out a pair of assists.

Some of Miller's top performances included: four caused turnovers and four ground balls in a 14-8 win over Hamilton, three caused turnovers and seven ground balls in an 11-10 win over Williams, two goals, a season-high 10 ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a 14-10 win over Connecticut College, and four caused turnovers to go along with four ground balls against Amherst.

This marks the first All-America honors earned by Bates men's lacrosse players since the 2019 season.

The Bobcats finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 9-7 and a 4-6 mark in NESCAC play. Their nine wins this year marked a big step forward for the program as it's more than they'd tallied in the previous five seasons combined, two of which were abbreviated due to COVID-19. Bates men's lacrosse also qualified for the NESCAC tournament for the first time since 2019 and recently received the President's Cup for overall excellence at the 2025 CATSBY Awards.
