WATERVILLE, Maine –Bates College women's tennis dropped a 6-1 NESCAC decision at No. 36 Colby Wednesday, but enjoyed a standout performance by sophomore
Iris Westmoreland, who secured an impressive straight-set victory at No. 1 singles vs. the Mules.
Facing off against Colby's Jade Finetone, Westmoreland coasted to a 6-4, 6-3 triumph to give the Bobcats (5-13, 3-6 NESCAC) their lone point of the match. The Mules move to 7-8 (4-5 NESCAC) with the win.
Bates returns to the court on Saturday as the Bobcats close out their regular-season slate with a visit to No. 8 Bowdoin. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Brunswick, Maine.
