ORLANDO, Fla. -- Bates College concluded Thursday's women's tennis twin-bill with an afternoon showdown vs. Division II Rollins College at the USTA National Campus.
The Tars defeated the Bobcats by a 7-0 score to improve to 2-3 on the spring. Bates, which opened the day with a match vs. DII Saint Leo University, drops to 1-2 in dual competition thus far in 2024-25.
Rollins secured the initial point of the match with a doubles play sweep.
At No. 1 doubles, the Rollins duo of Nancy Liu (So.-Hohhot, Mongolia) and Polina Vlasova (Gr.- Wedemark, Germany) collected a 7-5 victory over
Olivia Gidlow and
Iris Westmoreland. Amina Abdulloeva (Fy.-Bradenton, Fla.) and Amina Taibi (Jr.-Valencia, Spain), playing at No. 2, defeated
Elise Hepburn and
Isabella Saul by a score of 6-2.
Milla Falster (Jr.-Stabekk, Norway) and Stella Fruijtier (So.-Buchillon, Switzerland) turned back
Lizzie Frekko and
Ava Lyon, 6-4, in the No. 3 slot.
