BANGOR, Maine -- Bates men's basketball kept its perfect start rolling Tuesday night, surging past Husson for a 90–62 road win that pushed the Bobcats to 3–0 for the first time since their 2014–15 Sweet 16 season. It also marks the first time since 1995–96 that Bates has topped 90 points in three straight games.
Senior
Brady Coyne lit it up from deep, scoring a game-high 22 points on 6–of-11 three-point shooting.
Jamari Robinson (Fy.) delivered a huge lift off the bench with 17 points and five boards, and senior
David Omasombo added 12 points in 15 minutes to round out a balanced attack.
Coyne has netted 20-plus points in all three games this season for the garnet and white, averaging 21.3 points-per-game. The 6-1 guard is also 17-for-32 from deep over those three contests.
After a tight first half that saw Bates edge into the break with a 32–30 lead, the Bobcats overwhelmed the Eagles with a 58-point second half. Bates shot 51% from the field after the break and finished with 45 bench points on the night.
Keenan Sparks (So.) anchored a dominant effort on the glass, posting 10 rebounds and eight assists as Bates won the rebounding battle 57–35. The Bobcats also turned 12 Husson turnovers into 25 points and piled up 38 points in the paint.
Bates returns to campus Sunday to make its home debut and host UMass Dartmouth at Alumni Gym as part of a three-game Thanksgiving break homestand. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
