TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is proud to announce the 2024 Division III Men's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams as Bates College was honored Wednesday as an ITA All-Academic squad. Individually, nine Bobcats earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for their work in the classroom.
Bates men's tennis student-athletes earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors this year are:
Ben Adey '25 (3.82 GPA),
Eli Criss '25 (3.59),
Matthew Danielson '24 (4.00),
Nicky Desai '24 (3.96),
Russell Judge '27 (3.75),
Phillippe Kosyagin '27 (3.88),
Nico Ozer '27 (3.92),
Alex Park '27 (3.67), and
Theo Sardain '26 (3.58).
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above. Bates achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.54.
Academia is an integral aspect of the college tennis experience and adds to the unique student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2024, 1,079 Division III Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 129 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
